I am a member of the Ingenuity FTC team in Lenox Massachusetts, and a new team in the area is starting up and I have been told that the expansion hub has been discontinued. Should the new leader of the team buy two control hubs or one control hub with an expansion hub?
I’m not sure where this rumor started, but I’m glad you asked. The REV Expansion Hub has NOT been discontinued. Starting next year phones are no longer allowed as a Robot Controller, so they will definitely want to purchase a Control Hub. You cannot chain together two Control Hubs, so in order to get the 8 maximum motor ports and 12 maximum servo ports you would need both a Control Hub and an Expansion Hub.
Hope that settles this issue.
